Separated into the Major in Information & Communications and the Major in Software System, students are given the engineering education with the full knowledge of hardware and software. The Major in Information & Communications deals with the digital technologies including communication and computer system and the Major in Software System provides the knowledge about the efficient information processing techniques and the information system design. |

Major in Information & Communications Engineering |

Information & Communications Technologies are the definite core of the next generation personal communication, high-definition (HD) digital TV, broadband multimedia computer networks and so on. In this Major, students are given the courses about the electrical and electronic engineering, digital communication engineering and computer H/W and S/W technology with the various practices in the laboratory, which will lead students to be specialists in the future information and communications area. |

Major in Software System |

The educational goal of the software system engineering major is training information experts who is able to provide various services for the information requests. The educational field can be categorized into three areas. First, the software development area that studies basic knowledges and application abilities related to computer software. Second, the information processing area that improves efficiency of the information by the effective data processing. This area includes digital image processing, information visualization, various methods on software developing, and experiment on data processing. Third, the information system area that is essential factor for the productivity and competitiveness of the organization offers methods on information engineering, information system design and analysis, integrated information system development, and information system software. |

There have been increasing demands for software system engineers in various fields of industry. Many job opportunities are opened for graduates majoring in software system. These include software engineers and consultants in software industry developing and consulting various software systems. Also, graduates can work for the operation and management of software systems of various organizations (e.g., governments and financial companies). In addition, they may have their way to advanced graduate programs and get the positions as researchers at various laboratories. |
