The Engineering Research Center was founded with the goal of conducting research and development on basic technology and applied engineering issues. It is a representative for the following 5 research institutes of Hansung University:
· Information and Telecommunications Research Center
· Information Processing Research & Development Center
· Mechatronics Research Laboratory
· Center of Safety Science and Technology
· Institute of Geographic Information System/Intelligent Transport System
The Information & Telecommunication Research Center was established for the purpose of studying and developing basic and applied information and telecommunications technologies. The center focuses on the areas of hardware and software design, application software development, multimedia system design, image processing system design, database design, and network performance analysis.
The objective of the Information Processing Research & Development Center is to develop the newest technology for the information processing area required by an information society, and also to transfer the newest technology to enterprise through education.
The object of this laboratory is not only to contrive academic research and activity for the newest theory and technology in the area of Mechatronics, but also to contribute to the technological development of Mechatronics in and out of the nation by promoting practical educational-industrial cooperation.
The Center of Safety Science and Technology conducts research and development on safety technology and effective safety programs through practical academic/industrial cooperation. The center studies improved safety methodology for future improvements in safety. In particular, the center focuses on the development of ergonomics, risk management, the human factor, industrial hygiene, fire protection, chemical safety engineering, and mechanical safety engineering. The center encourages affiliated faculty and students to exchange information and promote and generate research projects.
The Institute of Geographic Information System/Intelligent Transport System studies GIS/ITS system, which covers very important social infra-structure, nation's geographical information and transport system. |
